How to use the image resizer
- Choose an image from your device or drop it on the box. It is read by your browser and never uploaded.
- Pick a size, or choose Custom size and enter a width and height.
- Choose Cover to fill the size and crop the edges, or Contain to fit the whole image and fill the rest with a colour.
- Pick JPEG for photos or PNG for text and logos, check the file size under the preview, then download.
Not sure which size you need? The social media image sizes page lists the sizes each network publishes, with links to the official help pages.
Questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is read and resized by your browser on your own device. It is never uploaded, and nothing is saved after you close the page.
What is the difference between cover and contain?
Cover fills the whole size and crops what does not fit, so nothing is left empty. Contain fits the whole image inside the size and fills the leftover space with a colour you choose, so nothing is cropped.
Should I save as PNG or JPEG?
JPEG makes much smaller files for photos and is what most networks prefer. PNG keeps sharp edges on text, logos and screenshots, and it can keep a transparent background. If a network has a file size limit, check the size shown under the preview before you save.
Which Dribbble size does PostDelegate need?
Images of at least 400×300 are cropped from the centre to 800×600 or 400×300. GIFs must already be exactly one of those sizes. Use a Dribbble preset to choose the crop yourself instead of leaving it to the centre. See the Dribbble scheduler.
Where do these sizes come from?
Where a platform publishes a size on its own help pages, the preset uses it; the social media image sizes page lists each one with its source. X and Bluesky do not publish a size for images in posts, so those presets use common shapes.
