How to schedule Discord Messages
- Add the bot to your server. On the calendar page choose Add Channel, then Discord. Choose the server and approve. You need the Manage Server permission there. The bot is allowed to send messages, create threads and send messages in threads.
- Write the message. Choose Create Post and select the Discord server. Write the message with bold, headings, lists and links, and attach images or videos if you like.
- Pick the Discord channel. Choose the channel to post to in the post settings. Pick a text or announcement channel. For a private channel, give the bot access to it in Discord first.
- Schedule it. Pick a date and time and choose Add to Calendar. Use Add comment to post a follow-up in a thread under the first message.
What you can publish to Discord
Discord servers run on announcements: patch notes, event reminders, stream alerts and the weekly community call. PostDelegate sends each scheduled post as a message from its bot to the channel you choose, so the announcement goes out on time without anyone online to press send.
Text can run to 1,980 characters, and bold, underline, headings, bullet lists and links are kept as Discord Markdown. Images and videos are uploaded as files with the message, up to Discord's 10 per message. You can mention members, @here and @everyone. The first follow-up entry opens a thread on your message.
- Add the PostDelegate bot to a server from Add Channel.
- Write a message with Markdown, media and mentions.
- Choose the Discord channel each post goes to.

Before connecting
- Private channels need the bot added in Discord, with permission to view the channel and send messages.
- Messages are sent from the PostDelegate bot, not your own Discord account.

Plan Discord with the rest of your channels
Discord sits on the same calendar as every other channel you connect. In one post you can pick several channels, write the content once and adjust it for each, and every channel keeps its own settings. Save a draft to review a post first, choose Add to Calendar to schedule it, or choose Post now to send it immediately. The scheduling guide covers drafts, repeats, previews and time slots.
Use Claude or ChatGPT with Discord
PostDelegate runs an MCP server, so an assistant you already use can look at your Discord channel, read its rules and create a draft for you to review. AI is bring-your-own, and PostDelegate never charges for it. Setup guides: Claude, ChatGPT, and what a social media MCP server is.
Review the whole post
Check the destination, wording, media and time before scheduling. Look at the result in your workspace after publication; a queued item is not a published-post confirmation.
