How to schedule Nostr Notes
- Get your private key in hex. Many Nostr clients and sites such as iris.to can show or convert your key to hex. It is a long string of letters a to f and numbers, not the nsec form.
- Connect the identity. On the calendar page choose Add Channel, then Nostr. Paste the hex key into Nostr private key and save.
- Write the note. Choose Create Post and select the Nostr channel. Write the text. Images and video are added to the note as plain URLs after your text. Add more entries to create replies to the first note.
- Schedule it. Pick a date and time and choose Add to Calendar. Use Save as draft to hold it back, or Post now to send it right away.
What you can publish to Nostr
Nostr has no accounts to sign in to, so a connection means handing PostDelegate a key that can sign notes for you. PostDelegate works out the public key, then looks up your profile name and picture on the relays. If it finds none, the channel is named No Name, and posting still works.
When a note goes out, PostDelegate sends it to nos.lol, relay.damus.io, relay.snort.social, temp.iris.to and vault.iris.to. The note counts as published when a relay accepts it, and the link in your calendar points to the note on primal.net.
- Connect from Add Channel with a hex private key.
- Write the note, with images and video added as URLs after the text.
- Add more entries to publish replies to the first note.
Before connecting
- Your private key controls your whole Nostr identity and is stored on the service so PostDelegate can sign notes. Consider a separate key pair just for scheduling.
- Nostr has no way to revoke a key, so only connect one you are comfortable with.
Read the Nostr guide in our documentation for connection steps, post settings and troubleshooting.
Plan Nostr with the rest of your channels
Nostr sits on the same calendar as every other channel you connect. In one post you can pick several channels, write the content once and adjust it for each, and every channel keeps its own settings. Save a draft to review a post first, choose Add to Calendar to schedule it, or choose Post now to send it immediately. The scheduling guide covers drafts, repeats, previews and time slots.
Use Claude or ChatGPT with Nostr
PostDelegate runs an MCP server, so an assistant you already use can look at your Nostr channel, read its rules and create a draft for you to review. AI is bring-your-own, and PostDelegate never charges for it. Setup guides: Claude, ChatGPT, and what a social media MCP server is.
Review the whole post
Check the destination, wording, media and time before scheduling. Look at the result in your workspace after publication; a queued item is not a published-post confirmation.
