How to schedule Telegram Posts
- Add the bot to your chat. In Telegram, add @PostDelegateBot to your channel or group. In a channel, make it an admin that can post messages; only admins can post in channels. Use the Telegram app on your phone or computer for this, because the web version does not let you make a bot a channel admin.
- Start the connection. In PostDelegate, choose Add Channel on the calendar page, then Telegram, and choose Connect Telegram. PostDelegate shows a short command such as /connect AB12.
- Send the command. Copy the command and send it as a message in the channel or group. PostDelegate spots it within a few seconds and the chat appears on your calendar. If the bot is an admin, it removes the command for you.
- Write and schedule. Choose Create Post, select the Telegram chat, write the message and attach photos, videos or files. Pick a date and time and choose Add to Calendar.
What you can publish to Telegram
Telegram channels are a direct line to an audience, and groups are where communities talk. PostDelegate sends each scheduled post as a message from @PostDelegateBot, so announcements, links and media go out at the time you set without anyone online to press send.
Text can run to 4,096 characters, with bold and underline kept and links pasted as plain URLs. One photo, video or file is sent with your text as its caption, and several attachments go out as an album of up to 10. With an attachment Telegram limits the caption to 1,024 characters. Follow-up entries are sent as replies to the first message.
- Add @PostDelegateBot to a channel or group, then connect from Add Channel.
- Write a message with bold or underlined text, links and attachments.
- Add follow-up entries to send replies to the first message.
Telegram post settings
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Text | Up to 4,096 characters. With an attachment, Telegram limits the caption to 1,024 characters. |
| Attachments | Photos, videos or other files. Up to 10 items per album; more are sent as further albums. |
Before connecting
- Channels need @PostDelegateBot as an admin that can post. Telegram's web version cannot appoint a bot as channel admin, so use the phone or desktop app for that step.
- Posts come from @PostDelegateBot, not from your own Telegram account.

Plan Telegram with the rest of your channels
Telegram sits on the same calendar as every other channel you connect. In one post you can pick several channels, write the content once and adjust it for each, and every channel keeps its own settings. Save a draft to review a post first, choose Add to Calendar to schedule it, or choose Post now to send it immediately. The scheduling guide covers drafts, repeats, previews and time slots.
Use Claude or ChatGPT with Telegram
PostDelegate runs an MCP server, so an assistant you already use can look at your Telegram channel, read its rules and create a draft for you to review. AI is bring-your-own, and PostDelegate never charges for it. Setup guides: Claude, ChatGPT, and what a social media MCP server is.
Review the whole post
Check the destination, wording, media and time before scheduling. Look at the result in your workspace after publication; a queued item is not a published-post confirmation.
