Pricing and trial
Hootsuite sells its plans per user. Standard is $99 per user a month, Professional $199 and Advanced $399, all on annual billing, and Enterprise is priced on request. Monthly billing is offered at a higher per-user rate. PostDelegate plans have one price each, however many people join: $19 a month for Starter, $29 for Team, $39 for Pro and $79 for Ultimate.
In practice that is a large gap. One person on Hootsuite Standard pays $99 a month for ten social accounts. A team of three on Standard pays $297 a month. On PostDelegate, Team covers 10 channels and invites the whole team for $29 a month, and Pro covers 30 channels for $39. Yearly billing on PostDelegate costs about 20% less again; the pricing page has the details.
Both offer a free trial. Hootsuite’s runs for 14 days on Standard, Professional and Advanced, with a daily posting limit of 10 to 20 posts and no bulk scheduling while you trial. PostDelegate’s runs for 7 days on every plan, and needs no credit card. Add a card before the trial ends to keep your plan.
AI
Hootsuite builds AI into every plan: it can generate posts and images, and it has an AI teammate it calls Wisdom. Professional adds AI smart replies and trend forecasting. PostDelegate does not resell AI. An admin adds the workspace’s own OpenAI API key, and AI writing, the Agent and AI images run on that key. You pay OpenAI directly, at its prices, and PostDelegate never charges for AI.
Both services also let outside assistants in. Hootsuite offers MCP connectors for ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini. PostDelegate has an MCP server on every plan, including Starter, for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and other MCP clients, plus a public REST API and webhooks. Posts an assistant drafts can wait in the AI review inbox until a person approves them.
Teams and approvals
On Hootsuite, content approval arrives with Advanced at $399 per user a month. On PostDelegate, team members come with Team, Pro and Ultimate. Posts carry statuses, clients approve posts from a link without creating an account, and AI drafts arrive in their own review inbox. That makes PostDelegate a practical fit for small agencies that need client sign-off without paying enterprise prices.
Hootsuite does more beyond publishing. Every plan includes an inbox for replying to messages, and higher plans add inbox automation, message routing and social listening. PostDelegate does not have a social inbox or listening. It covers planning, approving and publishing, with analytics that keep daily history and show trends, best times to post and reports (for networks that share statistics; today YouTube).
