Pricing and trial
Later lists three plans, billed yearly: Starter at $18.75 a month, Growth at $37.50 and Scale at $82.50. Each plan is built from social sets, where a set is one profile on each supported platform, so it suits one brand per set. Starter has one set, one user and a limit of 30 posts per profile. Growth has two sets, two users and 180 posts per profile. Scale has six sets, four users and no post limit.
PostDelegate plans count channels instead of sets, and any mix of networks counts towards the total. Starter is $19 a month for 5 channels, Team $29 for 10 channels with team members, and Pro $39 for 30 channels. Yearly billing brings Starter to about $15 a month and Team to about $23. There is no practical limit on posts on any plan, and team plans are not priced per person.
Later offers a 14-day free trial and does not list a free plan. PostDelegate has a 7-day free trial on every plan that needs no credit card. Add a card before the trial ends to keep your plan. See the pricing page for the full plan details.
AI
Later includes AI for captions and content, metered in credits: 5 a month on Starter, 50 on Growth and 100 on Scale, with more available for a fee. PostDelegate takes a different approach. An admin adds the workspace’s own OpenAI API key, and AI writing, the Agent and AI images run on that key. You pay OpenAI directly for what you use, there is no monthly allowance to run out of, and PostDelegate never charges for AI.
PostDelegate also has an MCP server on every plan, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and other MCP clients can draft and schedule posts. Assistant drafts can wait in the AI review inbox until a person approves them. A public REST API and webhooks are included too. Later does not list an API or MCP access on its pricing page.
Channels
This is where the two differ most today. Later supports Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat. PostDelegate connects 14 networks today: YouTube, Bluesky, Slack, Tumblr, Lemmy, Nostr, Twitch, Kick, Dribbble, DEV.to, Medium, WordPress, Hashnode, Listmonk (email). Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest and others are coming soon and open as each platform approves PostDelegate. They cannot be connected yet.
The only network on Later’s list that PostDelegate connects today is YouTube. PostDelegate’s current strength is elsewhere: video on YouTube, conversation on Bluesky, long-form writing on WordPress, Medium, DEV.to and Hashnode, community posts on Lemmy and Tumblr, team updates on Slack and newsletters through Listmonk. The channel directory shows what can be connected right now.
Workflow
Later also offers a link-in-bio page and an influencer marketing platform, which PostDelegate does not. PostDelegate puts its weight on the publishing workflow: a shared calendar, post statuses, client approval links that need no account, an AI review inbox, campaigns and an ideas board, evergreen posts that recycle on a schedule, bulk CSV import, a media library with uploads up to 1 GB, and analytics with daily history, trends, best times to post and reports (for networks that share statistics; today YouTube).
Where Later is the better pick today
- Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest or Snapchat is your main channel.
- You want a link-in-bio page or influencer marketing alongside scheduling.
- You want AI included in the plan rather than on your own API key.
Where PostDelegate fits
- You publish to YouTube, Bluesky, blogs, developer communities, Slack or a newsletter.
- You post often and do not want a per-profile post cap.
- You work in a team or with clients who need to approve posts from a link.
- You want Claude, ChatGPT or a coding agent to draft posts, with a person approving them first.
What to check before choosing
- Whether the exact accounts you manage can connect and publish today.
- How many posts a month you publish per profile.
- How many people need access, and what each extra person costs.
- How you want to pay for AI: credits in the plan, or your own key.
- The support, subscription and data-handling terms of each service.
