Different centres of gravity
Metricool is an analytics product that also publishes. Its plans are built around brands, its reporting covers every connected network, it tracks competitors, and it brings Facebook, Google and TikTok ads into the same view as organic posts. For an agency whose deliverable is a monthly report, that is the product.
PostDelegate is a publishing product that also reports. The calendar, composer, approvals and API are the centre, and analytics exist only where a network shares statistics with us — today YouTube and Google Business Profile. We would rather say that plainly than imply parity: if you are choosing on analytics, choose Metricool.
Pricing, and the brand question
Metricool's unit is the brand, and a brand holds one profile per network. Plans cover up to 5, 10, 15, 25 or 50 brands: Starter at $25 or $45, Advanced at $67, $107 or $210, all on monthly billing before VAT. There is also a real free plan — one brand, twenty posts a month, thirty days of analytics, without LinkedIn or X.
That makes any per-account comparison depend on your structure rather than your count. Ten accounts belonging to two businesses are two brands, which fits Starter at $25. Ten accounts on ten different single-network brands reach the $45 tier. Thirty accounts can be anything from $25 to $210 depending on the same split, and X adds a per-account charge on top.
PostDelegate charges for channels and does not care how they group: $19 for five, $29 for ten, $39 for thirty, $79 for a hundred. Simpler to predict, and cheaper at the top of that range; not necessarily cheaper at the bottom, where Metricool's free plan and $25 tier are hard to beat.
Agents and APIs
Both ship an MCP server on every plan, and Metricool includes its on the free plan, which is a generous place to put it. The two serve different ends: Metricool's connects an assistant to the data it is best at — analytics and reporting — while PostDelegate's schedules and publishes, with an AI review inbox so drafts an assistant wrote wait for a person.
The APIs run the other way round from the analytics story. Metricool's API is on Advanced and Custom only, so the cheaper plans have the MCP server but not the API. PostDelegate puts the REST API and webhooks on every plan alongside the MCP server. If you intend to build on top of the tool rather than only talk to it through an assistant, that is the line to check.
Where Metricool is the better pick
- Analytics is the deliverable: history across every network, competitor tracking and ads reporting in one place.
- You report on Facebook, Google or TikTok ads alongside organic posts.
- Your accounts group neatly into brands, where the per-brand price works out lower.
- You want a free plan rather than a trial, with an MCP server included in it.
- You publish to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest or Twitch today.
Where PostDelegate fits
- Publishing breadth: blogs, developer communities, chat platforms and newsletters Metricool does not reach.
- A flat price that does not change with how your accounts divide into brands.
- An API and webhooks on every plan, not only on Advanced and above.
- Client approval links that need no account, and a review step for AI-written drafts.
What to check before choosing
- Whether the exact accounts you manage can connect and publish today.
- The monthly total for your real number of channels and people, not the headline price.
- How you want to pay for AI: included in the plan, or on your own key.
- How approvals work for your team and your clients.
- The support, subscription and data-handling terms of each service.
